A well-choreographed and executed fight is essential for any action film or movie in general. And becuase we absolutely adore watching intense and spectacular fighting, we picked for you our 30 favorite one-on-one fight sequences in movie history...

Flying Snow vs. Moon in
Hero (2002)

The most breathtaking action scene ever made, this one is a feast for the eyes, thanks to its exquisite balletic style and state-of-the-art visuals.

Yu Shu Lien vs. Jen Yu in
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)

Intense, fast-paced, and brilliantly-choreographed by Yuen Woo Ping, this all female fight scene is a dream-come-true for any wuxia lover.

Rama vs. The Assassin in
The Raid 2 (2014)

A serious contender for the best one-on-one action sequence between males, this one will leave you exhasuted, yet deeply satisfied.

Both one of the best opening scenes ever, and one of the harshest fights, this one is cool and stylishly brutal.

Sen Te vs. Tien Ta in  

A fierce duel between two true kung fu masters, this fantastically-crafted classic fight scene simply never gets old.

Ma Kwan vs. Jack in  
S.P.L. (2005)

Emphasizing on the unusual weapons, this fight shot, choreographed and performed by Donnie Yen is edgy and thrilling.

A lot of Oriental films, but no surprise there.
Ripley and the Alien Queen is an excellent choice. Best pre-fight line ever.

Alex, I actually excluded it from the list. It didn't feel right to put it here, as it was barely a proper fight.
