[7.00/10] A Dangerous Method (2011)

A Dangerous Method (2011)

QuickRating: Not necessarily one of David Cronenberg's most finest achievements, but still a pretty solid effort, "A Dangerous Method" is an intriguing and thought-provoking drama exploring the complicated human sexuality in a very intelligent way using historical facts, that is nicely-shot and complemented by strong performances from Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley and Viggo Mortensen, the latter being the best of the bunch.

Great to see that you enjoyed it! Saw it together with "The Skin I Live In" as a double feature at a local theater, which was a truly impressive in-theater-experience.

Maynard, I did... but if I have to be honest, I expected it to be a lot more darker. I still dug the idea and the performances. All the actors did a great job.

I would see this, except I loathe Keira Knightly. I know you don't understand why, but she grates on my last nerve like squeaky gym shoes on parquet flooring.:) I liked her once, but after seeing her play Jules from Bend It Like Beckham over and over and over again, I can't stand her anymore.

Mel, I know you're not a fan of Keira. At all. She's a one trick pony in your book, but I reckon you should give her a chance. Her portrayal here is very unsettling, though at times it borders on overacting.

I love Bend it like Beckam. I loved Keira, I loved Jonathan, I loved the idea.. I loved everything about it. :)
